Children Come First

Dear Friends,

Can you believe All God’s Children is 11 years old? We would never have reached this milestone without the generous support of donors like you! Regular gifts and fundraisers throughout the years have provided us the resources to make sure that Children Come First, as we have loved and cared for over 300 abused, neglected, and poverty-stricken young mothers and their babies.

Today we find ourselves in dire need to physically expand our facilities in order to continue this ministry that began in 1999. Our efforts to impact our community are increasingly hampered by the limited space we have to provide treatment, counseling, and education for those we seek to serve.

Our Board of Directors voted unanimously this year to go forward with a building expansion to provide the residential, recreational, and office space we so urgently need. While we are concerned about the current state of the economy, we are also excited about the possibilities that lie before us. We daily place our faith in God to supply all our needs to complete construction and continue to grow our successful ministry in the process.

We now face the unprecedented task of funding the construction which is already underway at our Nicholasville, Kentucky location. Giving over and above the regular support we receive will be needed to complete the job.Your sacrificial donations are needed now more than ever!

We ask you to prayerfully consider how you might partner with us as we strive to continue to see that Children Come First in Central Kentucky.

The new 5,000-square-foot addition will provide these things we urgently need:

an EARLY LEARNING CENTER
to accommodate the increasing demand for children who need our accredited daycare;
new EDUCATIONAL SPACE that will finally allow our residents to be served by on-site classrooms (in collaboration with the Jessamine County School District);
more LIVING QUARTERS, allowing us to serve an additional 12 mothers and babies;
a SPECIALIZED ROOM that can be used for the many hours of training required of our staff and residents;
a COUNSELING ROOM with much-needed privacy for individual and group counseling;
a PLAY ROOM for our infants and toddlers to play and learn and grow;
an ARTS & EXERCISE SPACE offering a wonderful release for our residents during stressful and emotional times;
a FELLOWSHIP HALL with space for our many volunteers to visit, fellowship with, and mentor the residents and babies;
and NEW OFFICES for our treatment team staff, allowing them the space and privacy to be efficient and effective in their work.

Questions & Answers:

How will AGC raise the money needed for this project?
We plan to raise all funds through charitable gifts, pledges, and the hard work of board members, staff, campaign leaders, and a large group of dedicated volunteers that will seek the generous support of our current donors, area churches, community service organizations, local businesses, and new friends who have a passion for the work of this ministry. This includes major “in kind” construction gifts and labor.

I already support AGC. Why is an additional gift to the Children Come First campaign needed?
The success of this campaign requires the special generosity of all who believe in the importance of the AGC ministry.As the need for our programs and services continues to increase, our annual fund appeals/special events will go on as in the past. We urge AGC friends to continue to support the operation of our programs with your annual gifts, while at the same time considering a “stretch” contribution and/or pledge to the Children Come First campaign.

How do I make a gift?
Donors are encouraged to consider pledging generous gifts and paying them as a one-time gift, or in installments over the course of one year. A signed statement of intent or a pledge form will be used to indicate the size and timing of the pledge payments. Major in-kind gifts for construction or furnishings may also be given.

May I direct my gift to a particular element of the campaign?
Certainly! Particularly if there is an element of the project that is of special interest to you. Please review the many naming opportunities in this brochure.

How will gifts be recognized? May I make a gift “in memory of ” or “in honor of ” someone?
The campaign committee has developed a plan to recognize the special generosity of donors to this historic campaign. All donors will be gratefully acknowledged in AGC publications, while specific levels of giving will be recognized in various ways in the finished building (see naming opportunites in the previous section). Gifts to this campaign may be made in your name, in memory or in honor of a loved one, and certainly those who wish to remain anonymous in their giving will have their request honored.

Are there any tax advantages for making gifts to the Children Come First campaign?
Gifts to AGC are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Those donors who wish to make gifts of appreciated securities and other personal property may receive significant tax benefits as well. We recommend that you discuss specific tax implications with your financial and/or tax advisor to ensure that your gift offers maximum benefits to you and AGC.
