All God's Children is happy to introduce our supporters and donors to the Sonlight Project: a new and inexpensive way to advertise/promote companies, clubs, churches, events, etc while at the same time benefiting the "in-crisis" (abused and neglected) moms and babies in our care .
What is the Sonlight Project and what does it offer?
SonlightLex.com is the initial, prototype platform for the Sonlight Project. The 2010 goals for both are simple:
1) Make a significant financial contribution to local Christ-based charitable organizations.
2) Provide a social media platform for Christian life in the Lexington/Central Kentucky area by highlighting the people, organizations, churches, activities, businesses and events that make this area a vibrant and shining example of a community in service to Christ. Thus, the “Sonlight” project.
3) Provide exposure for businesses, both locally-based and those that touch Central Kentuckians from abroad, and their support of Christian life and growth.
Here’s how it works:
SonlightLex.com is already selling every day in 2010 to help All God's Children. What does that mean? :
Each day will be sold at it's face value. January 1, 2010 will cost $1, January 2 - $2, and so on until December 31, which will cost $365. Businesses, churches, individuals, and organizations can buy any day, or multiple days, of their choosing.
You will get more than your money's worth. People will see your pictures, logos, videos, and profile .Everyone who buys a day(s) also gets:
- A blog post/profile article about their business, church, organization, etc., complete with any digital photos/images the buyer can provide
- Links to their online presence, website, and other contact information;
- Their business logo and hyperlink/contact info on the SonlightLex.com Calendar, which will be visible all year and beyond;
- Christian feature of their choosing, located in or closely related to Central Kentucky;
- Promotion through the SonlightLex Facebook fan page and group, on Twitter, and photos and mentions on Flickr.
Here is the link to the site that will allow SonlightLex.com to achieve the goal of donating $10,000 to All God's Children with your help. http://www.SonlightLex.com/about and http://www.SonlightLex.com/sonlight-blog/. These links will give you even more detail on how this will benefit YOU, too!

Youth Night by the Amphitheather
This summer, All God's Children hosted a Youth Night by the Amphitheater where approximately 150 teenagers, including our residents, enjoyed a cookout and concert by the creek featuring Christian rock band, Too Many Drummers. Those in attendance included youth from Jessamine Christian Church, Versailles Baptist Church, Harrodsburg United Methodist, Gethsemane Baptist in Danville, and Master's Church in Lexington. Many of these groups have helped All God's Children in various ways, including holding Rockathons (fundraisers for AGC), working on the AGC grounds, and even purchasing and building a playground for us!
We'd like to thank Angie Currans from Pathway Church, Nathan Elliott from Mt. Freedom Baptist, the staff and residents of AGC for setting up and volunteering in various ways, and we offer a special thanks to Too Many Drummers for providing a spectacular concert that night!

We'd like to say a special "thank you" to photographer Rachel Dahm for providing event pictures.
